Monaco Enterprises Receives
Prestigious Electronic Lifestyles

AWARD

At the 1998 Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) Awards Banquet in New Orleans, Louisiana, Monaco Enterprises of Spokane, Washington and First Impressions Theme Theatres of North Miami, Florida were jointly awarded a First Place Award for excellence in Electronic and Interior Design for the category "Multi-Purpose Media Room." This award, the equivalent of an Academy Award in the high-end consumer electronics industry, was for an opulent residential entertainment complex completed in August of 1998. The project, which took three years in the planning, building, design, and installation phases, was for a 15,000' private estate in eastern Washington State.

Project scope portrayed a "Harley Davidson" inspired theme for the award-winning Media Room, plus a Dedicated 12-seat Home Theatre, Video Game Arcade, Telephone Booth, Lavish Powder Room, and Harley-Davidson Museum for the Client’s 28 collectable show bikes.

First Impressions Theme Theatres designed, manufactured and installed all furnishings and finished surfaces with the assistance of an extremely talented construction crew headed by Brian Sewell of DKS Construction Management. The media room’s star attraction is the Harley Handle Bar, fabricated of polished stainless steel and high luster lacquer, Harley-Davidson motorcycle headlight lamps, diamond plate foot rests and Harley-Davidson motorcycle seat bar stools. "Faux" steel beams with blue accent cove lights were built to look like heavy industrial girders and a stage with 4-circuit theatrical lighting for the client’s prize "Bike of the Month" display was built adjacent to the professional size Harley-Davidson billiard table.

Vin Monaco, Integrated Systems Manager, coordinated the electronic design and installation efforts for Monaco Enterprises. Special features of the media room included integration of Security, Fire, LiteTouch Lighting Control, Sony 61" Big Screen Projection TV, Velodyne Speakers System and a 200 Disc Sony CD player, all controlled by a PHAST/AMX Tiltscreen located on the Bar. Systems are capable of being initiated by one "button push" on the custom configured Tiltscreen. Monaco Enterprises has been a leader in designing and installing custom electronics and Home Theatres in the Inland Northwest since 1971.
