High-Security Balanced Magnetic Contacts

Features

  • Triple biased for increased security

  • No field adjustment

  • Pry tamper included

  • Supervision and remote test options available

  • UL listed for safes and vaults

Description

Monaco High-Security Balanced Magnetic Contact uses triple-biased reeds that are highly resistant to defeat by external magnets. For added security, magnetic field tamper and pry tamper are standard features. Each contact and actuation magnet set is factory-compensated for the effects of steel.

This high-security balanced magnetic contact is accepted by the Defense Intelligence Agency, listed in the DIAM 50-3 for use in Secure Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).

These switches contain three independent Form C biased reed contacts, wired in SPDT configuration. A supervised loop with a magnetic tamper feature is included and a pry tamper connection is also available for the 24-hour loop. A remote test feature is provided in the protective loop for the switch, P/N 516-006-02.

Application Notes

Use to protect doors in high-security locations or where valuable materials are stored. Effectively used at airports, biotechnology labs and other medical research settings, warehouses, manufacturing plants, jewelry stores, banks, data processing centers, military bases, ammunition depots, and energy-generation facilities.

Explosion-Proof, High-Security Magnetic Contact

Features

  • Balanced, triple-biased, SPDT switches make defeat with external magnet virtually impossible

  • Tamper alarm activated by removal of face plate or introduction of external magnet

  • Optional pry tamper alarm activates if attempt is made to remove the switch from mounting surface

Description

Monaco Explosion-Proof High-Security Magnetic Contact is designed for hazardous environments. The rugged die-cast aluminum housing with conduit fittings meets UL requirements for hazardous locations. The contacts are balanced, triple-biased SPDT switches that make defeat with external magnets virtually impossible. The contacts feature tamper circuits that are activated by removal of the faceplate or by introduction of an external magnet. The terminals are located inside the housing providing additional protection from tamper or accidental shorting. Optional features include pry tamper loop for alarm in case of contact removal, current limiting device for circuit protection, and a housing approved for Class I Group B and Class III environments.

Overhead-Door Magnetic Contacts

Features

  • Easy installation

  • Wide 3-inch operating gap

  • Cast-aluminum magnet housing

  • Fully sealed switch

  • Mounting hardware included

Description

Monaco Overhead-Door Magnetic Contact is designed for environments where a heavy-duty unit is required. This floor mount unit is constructed using a rugged low-profile extruded-aluminum switch housing and a cast aluminum magnet housing. The reed-switch assembly is fully encased in a polyurethane potting material to prevent damage due to moisture or humidity. A wide operating gap distance of up to three inches makes installation easy and helps prevent false alarms due to door movement from damaged or loose fitting doors.
