BT2-R Repeater

The BT2-4 is a narrowband repeater used in Monaco's D-500 Radio Alarm System to aid communications between transceivers and the central receiving equipment where terrain or some obstacle interferes with the radio signals. The BT2-R is located where its antenna provides a clear path with the central and the obstructed BT2s. It can be used with any four-tone BT2 or M-1.

Target BT2 and zone ranges are programmed into the BT2-R by the user. The BT2-R repeats all interrogations, replies, alarms and troubles which include numbers in those ranges. A second BT2-R can be used in redundant mode to repeat messages for target BT2s or zones if the primary BT2-R does not.

The BT2-R does not provide zone inputs, but does monitor and report its own ac fail, battery fault and enclosure tamper (optional) conditions. It also replies to D-500 supervisory interrogations.

  • Repeats D-500 interrogations to target BT2s/M-1s and all messages from target BT2s/M-1s
  • Provides capacity for up to eight groups of BT2s/M-1s
  • A redundant BT2-R may be used as a backup to the primary BT2-R
  • BT2-R number and target BT2 and zone ranges are entered on rotary switches and stored in a transferrable Data Module
  • Communications between the BT2-R and the D- 500 are supervised by scheduled and manual interrogations
  • Battery fault (low or disconnected battery or high charger output), ac fail and enclosure tamper (optional) conditions are reported with the BT2-R number, ac fail reporting may be inhibited
  • LEDs identify BT2-R status
  • Digital display shows programmed information and diagnostic test data; includes programmed diagnostic tests
  • Provides 60-hour battery backup/charger
  • 4 watts RF output power (Selected frequencies available at 2 watts RF output power)
