Fire Alarm Systems Design and Maintenance Training Class

DESCRIPTION: A fire alarm system is only as good as each of its parts. It is important for all personnel involved in any phase of the system to know the needs and responsibilities of others in the process. A system that is designed with maintenance schedules and accessibility in mind will be a better maintained and, therefore, more reliable system. Installers who know the NFPA codes and standards that apply to system design will understand why a certain item or placement is specified, and so on. The purpose of this class is to provide a survey of all aspects of Fire Alarm Systems: design, installation, approval, special applications, and maintenance. A variety of equipment is used for demonstration. Lab sessions and homework assignments provide practical application of the seminar topics.
